Continuing Medical Education

Physician Associates/Assistants

The American Academy of Physician Associates designates Pulmonary Academy for a maximum of 17.0 AAPA Category 1 CEU credits, Sleep Academy for a maximum of 15.0 AAPA Category 1 CEU credits and Critical Care Medicine Academy for a maximum of 22.0 AAPA Category 1 CEU credits. Approval is valid for one year from enrollment. Advanced Practitioners should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Nurse Practitioners

Nurse Practitioners may claim Category 1 AAPA credits towards their CE  requirements. The AANP recognizes AAPA credits for Pulmonary Academy and Sleep Academy. For more information, please refer to the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board’s website under “What is a CE Accreditor?” or to page 16 of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board Handbook.

Accreditation Statement
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society, and Pulmonary, Critical Care Medicine and Sleep Academy. MedChi is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Designation Statement
MedChi designates this online course for a maximum of 54 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Please note that AMA PRA Category I credit is awarded to physicians via a joint providership of MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society and PSA. Upon successful completion of the course, physicians will be able to download a certificate of completion but will need to create a profile on CME Passport in order to receive their official CME certificate (which will be sent by mail within 60 business days).

Polysomnographic Technologists

Polysomnographic Technologists who require certification for continuing education from The Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) should be able to claim AMA credits towards a maximum of 15.0 Continuing Sleep Technology Education credits. Individuals should claim only those credits that he/she actually earned in the educational activity.
